The Geosteerer is a Well Project/License representative in the office with the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Participate in pre-spud meeting and daily meetings.
  • Contribute to obtain goals by active participation in the work and give reports to the Project.
  • Ensure that the geological part of the Well Program and detailed procedures are followed and that the results and updates are reported according to the prevailing reporting system and to the Operations Geologist in accordance with the agreed routines. To be able to perform the daily reporting, the Geosteerer is required to master the reporting system. A tutoring of the system will be given from the company.
  • Ensure that any deviations from the Well Program, requirements and regulations are immediately reported to the Operations Geologist.
  • Do detailed description and analyses of well data according to the guidelines.
  • Cooperate with drilling personnel on the rig to optimize safe drilling practices.
  • Ensure quality control on site concerning MWD and directional drilling.
  • Perform quality control on geo-steering data interpretation daily.
  • Participate in daily morning report and provided summary of past 24-hours activities.
  • Prepare/contribute to Logging Reports, Section Reports, Final Well Reports and Composite Logs (implies mastering the Winlog application) for the wells. If necessary, arrange or contribute in pre-job meetings with the service companies performing data acquisition (MWD/LWD).
  • Ensure that data from contractor companies are of a satisfactory quality.
    Provide lesson learned summary and service companies report evaluation to Operation Geologist.
